The White Hat Scholarship Endowment

Benefit UND student-athletes

If you've been to many UND hockey games, chances are you've seen the guy in the white hat.

He's Al Pearson, a 1965 UND grad who has organized fan buses to hockey games for almost 40 years.

Until 2013, you probably saw him at games with his good friend, Tom Ronan.

Sadly, Tom passed away after a battle with cancer. But Al wants to keep up their tradition of supporting UND Men's Hockey — and he wants their legacy to last forever.

So, Al is leading the charge to fundraise for the White Hat Scholarship Endowment, which will support Men's Hockey summer programs forever.

Through the White Hat Scholarship, everyone can afford to make a difference.

This scholarship will help support summer school tuition and fees for UND Men's hockey student-athletes. To sustain the Department of Athletics history of excellence and position UND as a premier educational provider, it must be able to attract the best and brightest student-athletes.

As the cost of higher education continues to rise at significant rates, UND Athletics is committed to supporting high-achieving student-athletes. Summer school support for men's hockey can be as high as $80,000 a year. You can help meet the challenge of funding summer school scholarships by making a gift to the White Hat Scholarship Endowment, which will benefit future UND student-athletes for years to come.

With a minimum $5,000 gift to the White Hat Scholarship Endowment, you may benefit from both a federal tax deduction AND a North Dakota income tax credit equal to 40% of the charitable gift, thereby significantly reducing the net cost of giving. Ask your tax advisor for more information.
