The Jerry Olson Football Scholarship Endowment

A hard-working North Dakotan and an accomplished coach, Jerry Olson, ’62, left his mark on UND football and influenced the lives of many on and off the field.

In 1968, he became the first North Dakotan to be named head football coach at UND. After a decade at the helm, Coach Olson set the bar high for UND football.

  • 50 wins – 39 losses and four ties.
  • Four North Central Conference crowns
  • 1971 District Coach of the Year
  • 1972 North Dakota College Coach of the Year
  • Inducted into the UND Athletic Hall of Fame in the fall of 1981

In honor of Coach Olson’s impact at the University, The Jerry Olson Football Scholarship Endowment was established for Jerry and his wife, Nadine’s, impact on the program.  This endowment supports scholarships for UND football student-athletes, and allows their legacy to live on.

As the cost of higher education continues to rise, UND Athletics is committed to supporting high-achieving student-athletes. Your gift makes a difference.
